It's not QUITE done....

This is a picture of Jason and Jason on the back of the U-Haul after having filled it with furniture. Jason and I are spending our first night in the new house. I wish I could say we're all moved in and just need to unpack, but unfortunately that's not the case. Thanks to delays in the closing causing lack of motivation we found ourselves only half packed. For some reason we figured this would be no biggie as it's only a 10 mile move and we could put things in laundry baskets if we needed to. Unfortunately we forgot to allow for the difficulty of getting things onto the truck, resulting in it being 11:00 at night before we finally got back to the house. Jason has work tomorrow, Leigha has school. It was time to call it a night. The good news is we did manage to get all the furniture over here. Maybe tomorrow we'll be able to finish.

Movin' on up

The great move-in has begun. Jason and I rented a small U-Haul today since neither of our cars has the capacity to move more than a few boxes at a time, let alone beds, couches, dressers, etc. We filled about half of it with boxes this afternoon, then grabbed some dinner before I headed off to Hype 7 rehearsal. Our rehearsal space in Kansas City is in the Country Club Plaza neighborhood, so parking can be hard to come by occasionally. Tonight it was nearly freaking impossible. Apparently Laura Bush was in the same building as us (why? I don't know) and people were lined up to go in and see her and others to protest. I came in the back way like I always do and there were cops all over the building. The room we rehearse in has a window on the door and we could see people walking up the stairs giving us funny looks the whole time. Sweet. It certainly made for an interesting evening. After rehearsal I took Nifer, Zak, and Joe to the house to show it off. They seemed suitably impressed. I can't believe we're going to sleep there tomorrow night...and every night thereafter. Well, excluding vacations and eventually moving out, of course. I hope that's years and years from now, I love the house.

Don't worry, we're replacing that fan later

We have carpet! Huzzah! We can finally start moving in tomorrow! After all the hard work we've been doing getting it painted and ready for this point, moving all our worldly possessions will be a snap. If only I was kidding. We freakin' broke our backs! So, so worth it, though. This is the living room looking into the entryway. I personally painted that railing. The whole living room, entryway, hallway, and ceilings were poop brown. Look how pretty it is now! *collapses in a heap*

The end is near!!!

This is the pair of pants I've been wearing for working on the house. Needless to say I am throwing them out after the work is complete. Fortunately, that won't be too much longer (woo hoo!) Today we painted all the bedrooms, then started priming the floors (the carpet comes in tomorrow and the previous owners had a dog. This will ensure that any smells will be killed.) The stairwell is finished, we have a new sink and garbage disposal, and we wired the kitchen to be able to put in an electric stove. What's left now? Well, that's the easy part-we move in! There will be many more forthcoming projects, but this house will officially be habitable once the carpet gets in tomorrow. *does her happy dance* It's about time, too. I'm beginning to feel out of touch with the real world here. Between my wisdom teeth and this house I've been pretty much living under a rock during two and a half weeks out of the month of April here. I wonder if I will look back on this time as a seamless blur? Oh, yeah, I forgot to mention. While removing a cabinet from the bathroom, I totally found a hashpipe. Yeah. And it's the ugliest, most tacky thing in the world, ever. It kind of looks like a faucet handle (and that's what I thought it was at first, *blush*) with a dragon curled around it. Ew.

Frollick, my children!

Meet Snow White, AKA Tim. The girls are just loving the time they're getting to spend with Grandma, but it's Uncle Timmy they really flock to. He doesn't seem to mind in the least and loves torturing Leigha. So obviously we went to Home Depot today. We finally got done with the priming and wallpaper stripping and are ready to move into phase 2, painting!!! We completely painted the living room today and I got all the trim throughout the house painted white so we can just paint all the bedrooms tomorrow. This house is becoming more and more my own every day and we have yet to move a single piece of furniture into it! The boys spent the entire day installing a new water heater. When they removed the old one it was so rusted that when they took it out and turned it on it's side to dump the water out, the side caved in! Thank goodness we had this time to take care of all this (although much abbreviated) instead of moving in THEN finding out this was going to be an issue.

Kryptonite

This is my mother-in-law, Sheila. She is also my personal hero for the day. She showed up at the house about 2 this afternoon to help us out and will be staying through Monday. Today she:

*patched and spackled all the holes in the drywall
*primed the living room ceiling
*primed the hallway and ceiling
*primed Brianna's room
*kept the girls entertained
*bought us dinner

She is seriously amazing, the woman can quite literally do ANYTHING. Jason's brother, Tim, also came up and is helping us out greatly. The four of us have accomplished more today than Jason and I alone these last three days combined. My house is beginning to look livable!

I can lead a nation with a microphone

Today I started priming the walls. Not because the wallpaper stripping is done, not by a long shot, but because I badly bruised my finger yesterday gripping the putty knife so hard trying to get it off. Fortunately there wasn't any to take off in the living room, so I primed. I think this picture is really cool and artistic. It also sums up the bulk of my day quite nicely. Jenny came by and had lunch with me this afternoon, then graciously allowed me to borrow a radio so that I could have Weezer, Vampire Weekend, and The Flobots keep me company while I worked. There's a lot of great new music out right now, for which I am quite thankful. This evening I went to Roving Imp rehearsal and we did some really great stuff. I find myself doing more dark and/or serious scenes sometimes, and tonight was one of those nights. Not dark like "everything is dead" but dark like "there is so much tension between them you could cut it with a putty knife." Interesting. It turns out great, like, seriously high quality stuff, but sometimes I wonder if the people watching would rather see something that makes them wet themselves laughing. Perhaps I need to not think about what my fellow troupe members want to see and just go with it more often. Improv is a complicated lover. Oh, and speaking of improv, putty knife. There, now I've used that term three times, which is the magic number to end things on.

No, really, it's true!

Yes, it's the same shirt and scarf, but in my defense, I wore them just long enough to clean for a couple hours the other day and I just needed to put on something I can get dirty in. *ahem* Anyhow, so I set out bright and early, swung by Wal-Mart to get some vinegar (it cleans things really well) then on to the house for what I thought was to be another day of scrubbing, stripping (OF PAPER!) and improvement. About noon I got a call from a very good friend of mine...one who I helped escape a bad situation in January, as some of you may recall. Anyhow, she's back in town temporarily to sort out some legal matters and whatnot, so she wanted to see me. Needless to say, I rushed over there, picked her up, showed her my new house....and put her to work. :-) No, really I brought her to the house and showed her around, apologized for not being able to stop working and we had a conversation while I stripped wallpaper. She helped out as well, but completely of her own volition. Really. What? I took her to coffee as the afternoon was winding down. This is me and Melissa and her daughter Braelyn's arm. Brianna refused to fit into the frame so we decided to make it mostly just the two of us. After I took her home we came back to the house all our stuff is still in so Bri could take a short nap while I waited for the bus to drop Leigha off. Jason got off work early and when he came home we all drove to the new house to continue our work. It really is insane how much we have to do and less than a week to finish. We're getting there, though. One wallpaper strip at a time.

Need an invitation? I don't!

We got the call this morning that the paper had been signed and we were good to go! We were at Home Depot at the time (perfect!) so we got our things and drove to the house. A for sale sign had been put up, which is strange because it's a repo and there hadn't been a sign up before. We called Jerry, our realtor and he said, "Huh...that's strange. Well, too late for them, it's yours already." We took this picture with me next to the sign, then laughed as we pulled it up and put it next to the garage. For sale? Not on your life! That's MY yard I'm standing in! Those are MY dandelions! I'm going to have MY daughters pull them as incentive for extra cash! We went inside and started cleaning and stripping wallpaper. There is a ton to do, but it went by pretty fast today. Tomorrow it's just going to be me so it'll be a lot slower, but we should get everything painted before they put the carpet in. (yay!) Brianna and Leigha (especially Leigha) were a huge help getting some of the wallpaper up. Leigha got a whole room full of border up. We had dinner together then I went to Hype 7 rehearsal. As I walked in the room everyone started applauding me, it was such a good feeling. I curtsied. :-D This is so freakin' exciting. Jason texted me as we were about to leave, he saw a lightning bug, the first one of the season. *SQUEEEEE!*

View from the summit of Mount Paperwork

....And we closed on the house today. Yup, I'm just as surprised as you are. It doesn't feel real yet because we're waiting on something from the other bank before they can get their money and we can get the keys, but I defenetely signed more paper today than I have in my printer at the moment. Leigha didn't have school today so she and Bri got to come with us when we went to the bank and then to the celebratory dinner at Californos in Westport. (Excellent restaurant, if you haven't been there. Oh, and is that a UFO in the sky? What's up with that?) We hit up Half Price Books as well to get some home improvement books and some reading material for me, since I have packed my books and just finished the ones I kept out. Hopefully we get the all clear first thing tomorrow so the insane week of cleaning and painting can begin. Wo0t! *confetti*

The queen of polyester

We went bowling today with the girls. Brianna made a huge show about just exactly how heavy she found the kids ball to be, so we finally stopped trying to teach her how to granny it and got the roller-thingy. We played two games, Jason won the first one, I won the second one. My winning score? 115. Oh yeah!!! *pumps fist* Jason and I dropped the girls of at Awana then went to Home Depot to leave some nose prints on the apparent homeowner's glass ceiling we keep hitting. I finally found my perfect green paint color for the living room. Mmm. It's going to be pretty. (the mythical wall, that is)

Double homicide

Today I drove all the way to Lee's Summit to pick out the carpet for our house. It's fun shopping for things when you don't have to pay for them. I drove directly from there downtown for the KC Improv festival planning meeting. This is going to be so much fun, I can't wait for it. Leigha and Brianna got to play with Jared's (another improviser) son. They seemed to have a good time. After coming home and making the kids pack while I cleaned out my car Nifer came over and we had a Fluffer Nutter rehearsal. We're getting better, really starting to connect with one another mentally. Awesome. Then we drove to the Imp together for two spectacular shows. The seven o clock show in particular had a longform that was just spectacular. I didn't want it to end. This is a recreation (dang) of a scene from the longform. Basically, I was the prince of a kingdom, Nifer was the princess, our parents were fighting over who would be the successor and it was this huge power battle, so finally Nifer and I settled our differences by coming to terms that nobody in our family should rule so we shot each other. It was actually a really moving (yet comical) moment. After the shows we sat around talking for a while. One of our new members came to the nine o clock show and seemed to enjoy himself a lot. It was great chatting with everyone like that. It seems like it's been a while since we've had that level of comfort with one another.

Pew, pew pew!

Tiffany hosted a Hype 7 bbq tonight at her new place. We spent the evening playing video games (or in Brianna's case, running into the wall repeatedly on Mario Kart) watching TV, talking, eating, and watching videos of us backstage and at rehearsal that Tiffany had stored up on her camera. We were laughing so hard all night long. I seriously love these people. Jen didn't show up, which was unfortunate, but one of Tiffany's longtime friends made it and it was really nice to meet her. Jason had a good time, too. It was probably like being at a more interactive improv show for him. Well, that and he got to contribute to it beyond a one word suggestion. He, Joe, and Zak had some good conversation time. I can't wait to host an improv bbq at my place, whenever we get moved in. We're the best people to hang out with, I swear.

He's not QUITE dead...

First things first: I apologize for all the doom and gloom yesterday, but you have to understand something. Everyone has a breaking point, I just happened to hit mine yesterday as a result of a wound being opened and re-opened once a week (and then three days in a row) for about two months now. This is a daily blog, and that was a very significant portion of my day yesterday. That being said, I am fine, I am going to be fine, I realize that this is a surmountable obstacle. I'm emotionally raw and exhausted. As of today it looks like MONDAY is the day. At least that's less than a week away this time. We're going to have to rush like crazy to get it move-in ready, but that's just how it's gonna have to be. Moving on now. Tonight's rehearsal had two awesome longforms. This is a picture of a climactic scene from the second half of our practice. (going from left to right) James is Julie's son, as is John P., who is being hung on by Nifer who is his girlfriend. In 3/4 of the longform John P. was pretending to be dead and James quite literally dragged him around the entire time. At the end John P. killed John R. and James dragged him off the stage, resulting in a hillarious full circle tie in. One of these days I'm just going to have to basically put an entire longform in a blog posting just so you non-improv folk can get an idea of how amazing and intricate this stuff is, especially considering we make it up off the top of our heads. Gah! It's like candy!

I caught you a delicious bass...guitar, that is

Shame on me. I got excited again. Wrote a list out of all the stuff I needed to bring to the house, bought contact paper and wallpaper stripper. Why, why, oh why did I do that? Yeah, sounds like they're delaying us YET AGAIN! Do they not understand that this house needs serious work, a new water heater, AND we need to get our stuff moved in by the end of this month which is in less than two weeks????? The worst part is that it's one piece of paper that needs to be signed. One. And the bank has had it in their posession for a week now. I quite literally broke down into hysterics this afternoon when I heard this. I couldn't stop crying for about three hours, and those of you who know me know that I just don't cry much at all. It's just not how I respond to things. I was too upset to EAT. Yeah, it's that bad. I have calmed down since, but I am still shaking. This is just getting rediculous. We went to church tonight and had music practice afterward. I worked the soundboard and held Alanna's newborn baby the whole time, since I'm not singing this week. It soothed me a lot, which was nice. Here's a picture of Jason playing bass. He looks good onstage. And every other time he does stuff.

Defragmenting the ol' hard drive

Today was emotionally strenuous. Between the realtor and ourselves, we're basically doing the listing agent's job to get this house closed on because she's so unreliable she wasn't even there to let the appraiser in yesterday to look at the house. *eye roll* Why do people have jobs if they don't do them? We also took Jason to the doctor to have his knee looked at again. It's hard to keep your knees healthy when you only have one complete leg and have to keep all your weight on it. Brianna didn't understand what the big fuss was and suggested that the doctor kiss it to make it better. She's too sweet for her own good sometimes. Later today Jenny called. A friend of hers died and she's having a rough time. She needed some company so we ran around doing errands together for a bit. I can't understand the pain she must be going through but I hope I can help her deal with it. After a yummy dinner I headed to Hype 7 rehearsal. I had a half hour drive today all alone in the car with nothing to think about but my current situation, which has a heck of a lot going on that I don't know how it's going to pan out, so by the time I got there I was really wound up. I promised myself I would use the time to pretend the only thing in my life this evening would be improv, and I relaxed enough during the rehearsal to feel as though I'd done mental yoga. It was just exactly what I needed. Our rehearsal was great, too. We all did some amazing work. I bet at this point you're thinking, "Well that's all very well and good, Jess, but what's up with your picture?" Now you shall know, my friends. Nifer's boss came up to her yesterday and said, "Hey, do you rap?" She said, "I literally did this." then looked down at her pasty white body and did a squinty skeptical look. "Um...I guess I can? I've listened to the Beastie Boys...." Her boss asked her to write a wrap about customer service and then perform it at a meeting for everyone who works at the bank. This is what she came up with. You can read it if you click on the picture, it's hillarious.

You know I'm gonna be like you, mom

Jason's car had to be inspected to make sure it was driveable after the accident, so we drove to what is essentially the "Police DMV" in Lawrence. Basically, all they know about cars is where the lights are and as long as they are intact and you've paid the $15 fee, they sign it off. It's a joke, really. Since we had already spent the gas (yes, it's currency) getting there we decided to get some lunch at Free State, since Jason has never been there. I love that place. After lunch I wanted to hit The Merc for some local and organic produce, since we basically live in a grocery store black hole (yeah, there are three in a ten mile radius and they all suck.) and I love hippy grocery stores, God help me, I do. They had tiny grocery carts, which Brianna joyfully followed me around the store with, occasionally dinging my achilles tendon. Cutest injuries ever. We got home just in time for me to shoot off a couple e-mails, then picked Leigha up from school and drove to Clinton, Mo, which is halfway between our place and Jason's parent's place. We met them for dinner and checked out the sweet new ride Jason's dad got. Sounds like they're going to consider selling his old car to us for a low price. That'd be great since the Escort is basically on it's last legs at this point.

Now that's what I'm talking about!

Today, despite the fact that I-

*Worked the sound booth at church for the first time ever
*Had a productive coaching session from John for Nifer's and my (grammar?) little improv team, Fluffer Nutter
*Went to an improv show John Park invited me to at CYT (they're awesome!)

The picture I chose, the highlight of my day was still getting to drink out of a straw for the first time in almost a week. *pumps a fist in the air*

Ribbit!

I had been planning on being at the new house all day today, painting and fixing up. Since that's out the window, I researched free things going on in the KC area and found a Conservation Discovery Center that was celebrating the year of the frog by having a bunch of hands on educational centers and crafts that kids could do. They had a blast. We buzzed Country Club Plaza for coffee and paint chip samples from Restoration Hardware before heading back. Hey, gas is $3.19 a gallon, I gotta combine trips! I made some dinner and a dessert (which I never d0) then Leigha went to spend the night at Mallari's. The Imp was having "game night" tonight so I called Tiffany and Nifer and asked if they wanted to get some Deal or No Deal on, and we headed to the theater. *note-there was a little arm twisting on my part. I think they enjoyed themselves.* We went to the bar next door afterward and Tiffany made Nifer and I dance with her....I was sooooo dizzy. She's a great dancer! John, Denice and Carl joined us after a while, we had a blast. It was great to spend quality time with my family AND my friends today, I love days like this.

All boxed up and ready to go

So this is what my basement currently looks like. We did find out that it looks like things are moving forward again and we may be able to close Wednesday or Thursday, so that's good. I am seriously looking forward to getting these out of here, though. There's still so much to do and so much to pack...I'm glad to be doing and packing. Jen came over today and gave me a ton of moving boxes and we sat on the couch drinking coffee and talking, it was nice. I showed her the pictures of the house on my computer. She made "I'll be impressed when I see how you guys fix up the place" noises, which was great. It does need a lot of work, but it's mostly cosmetic. My recovery is going peachy, I finally got to eat some solids today (woo hoo!) and it was AWESOME. Also, the pain in my face from the swelling is significantly lessened but I have some wicked impressive purple and yellow bruises, and that's just good fun to show off. I feel like I'm on the playground again.

Feeling Impish

Recovering from my tooth extraction has given me enough downtime to finally FINALLY finish that skirt I'd been sewing, so I premiered it tonight at Roving Imp rehearsal. Isn't it cute? The reason it took so long is that each of those five ribbons is hand sewn and the skirt is about 20 feet around at the base. Also, two are grosgrain ribbon and I had to secure them on the top and bottom. Rehearsal was pretty good, we had a lot of fun, but as you can see my cheeks are still slightly poofy (and bruised!) so when we were playing the animal game James pointed at me and said, "Chipmunk!" Ha freaking ha. To be fair, I have beaned the guy in the mouth with a plastic lemon and punched him during a show once. I had it coming. (Believe it or not, we don't hate one another) We aren't going to be closing on the house tomorrow. It's been pushed back to NEXT Friday. I'm not going to relax until we sign the dotted line, I swear.

Namesake

Today I felt well enough to drive myself out on a small errand. It didn't last long and I was pretty drained afterward (I think it's a lack of food that's wearing me out gradually) I came home to find this robin on the doorstep. Just sitting there. I carefully walked around him/her and into the house, put Bri down for her nap, came out with the camera, snapped two pictures and went back inside. I even gently nudged his/her tail feathers with the toe of my shoe...bird did not budge. Strange. I understand, though. Wanting desperately to move but some unknown force keeps holding me in one spot. We found out that there are a couple holdups with the house and we're not sure if we'll be able to close Friday or not. This is seriously beginning to piss me off. We have done and are doing everything we can and should, we have the funding, and the obstacles are getting petty and rediculous. There's a chance we still could close Friday, but.........yeah, it's doubtful. Stupid bank didn't do thing when they were supposed to. (Nurr, there's a contract on the house, get the title away from the lawer!) So yeah, not happy about that. My recovery is still going pretty smoothly, swelling is slowly going down. Maybe I'll be able to eat real food soon. Maybe.

Chipmunk cheeks

Today my cheeks are so swollen I bear a striking resemblance to Marlon Brando. Not cool. I refuse to post pictures of myself in this condition, or to allow them to be taken. When Tiffany pulled out her camera this evening I turned my face the other way. Anyhow, I am so drained. More than I thought I would be. I thought I'd be in a lot of pain, too, but I actually feel just fine, despite the fact that my cheeks feel so heavy that when I tilt my head forward they feel like they're going to fall off my face. I needed to get out and about today, though, so we did. Jason and I went downtown for lunch (mmm, soup!) and coffee, then checked out a salvaged house parts warehouse thingy. I came home, rested up, doped up, and Jen picked me up to go to Hype 7 rehearsal tonight. I didn't think I'd be up to it, but like I said, I feel pretty good, just drained. I played a couple low energy characters (nothing wrong with that, especially when your scene partner plays a high energy character...and they did. Go Hype!) and we discussed what we liked and what we could improve on. This is us wrapping up and chatting about a french braid we just did. Tiffany, Jen, Zak, Nifer, and Joe. We are a cute bunch.

The molar of the story

This is the view I had nearly all day today. Why, you ask? Because I had my wisdom teeth removed. I went to the doctor's this morning having dutifully starved and dehydrated myself for the sake of the anasthetic. They put me in the chair, attached all manner of electrodes and monitering equipment to my person (hey, look! My heart rate goes spastic when I think about what I'm about to go through, neat!) and finally, administered the sleepy drug intravenously. The doctor started chatting pointlessly about things, probably to calm me down, then it looked as if the room needed it's vertical hold adjusted, and I konked out. I was unaware of much after that, hazy ghostly dreams that I couldn't see properly, then I woke up and they had me walk to a recovery room. I remember thinking it felt like I wasn't touching the floor. I lay down in the recovery room holding Jason's hand while Brianna made a nuisance of herself until a nurse came in and asked if I felt well enough to sit. I did. I sat up for about a minute, they got a wheelchair, and I was permitted to go home. Oh, and I got to keep my teeth. (sweet! I hope the tooth fairy visits me tonight!) Gradually the blurry, loopy numbness has worn off all day and I feel pretty good now, although I'm just starting to swell in the face and mashed potatoes proved to be too much chewing for me to handle. They say tomorrow I should be really swollen and probably have more pain, too. Hopefully I'll do okay.

Rethinking long distance relationships

For Christmas my parents gave us a webcam so they could see the grandkids while in the comfort of their home in Nevada. Sunday nights are typically "video call" night. Why they would want to see this frightening scene of our living room, I'll never know. Tonight's call was special because my younger sister, Janina, is visiting them from California. She and Lynette were at our parent's house tonight just as the girls were getting ready for bed, so they all four on their side and all four on our side gathered around our computers for a conversation. What a world we live in. This is my older sister Lynette, younger sister Janina, mom, dad, and then myself, Brianna and Leigha. Jason was just plain squeezed out of the shot. I doubt he minds too much.

Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end

The Roving Imp celebrated it's one year anniversary tonight with Star Wars themed shows. There was cake and champagne afterward. It's been a heck of a year and I can't wait to see what the next year has in store for me, I can't believe I've only been improvising for a year. It feels like this is what I was made to do sometimes. Julie, Nifer, Carl and I went out afterward to celebrate. I enjoy hanging out with them. This is Denise, Brian (John, Julie, and Carl's other brother) and Nifer, who looks strangely Stepfordian in this picture.

Here fishy, fishy!

Tonight we had the option of doing four or five different things. We opted to do two of them. Option the first: Leigha's school's fundraising carnival. Of course we went. We got tickets and the girls played games and won prizes, they had a blast. Leigha is obsessed with those plastic vampire teeth things and got a neon green set with her prize tickets. Nice. Bri opted for the "heinous amount of candy" route. I think they both made wise choices. Option the second: MOPS fundraiser auction. Last year it was fantastic, I got a Coach purse for $5 and there was a toooooon of awesome stuff. This year's had less stuff, but nicer furniture. I bid on a couple rolltop desks but did not win. There was a couch I had my eye on, but it had sold by the time we got there. Oh well. Or...........was it? Apparently Jenny had bid on it hoping to get the bidding going on it, but went a little overboard and ended up buying it. For $35, which isn't bad, but still, what do you do with a couch if you don't want it? Luckilly for her we are buying a house and she knows we need furniture, specifically a couch. So guess what? We worked out a deal, and I have a new couch now! Yay! On the way to the auction I saw yet another Christmas tree abandoned on the side of the road. Yeah...um, it's April, people. What's up with that?

This morning I had a dentist appointment, the second in a series of three cavity fillings (I'm just getting all my dental work over in one shot, it's been a while since I've taken care of my mouth) and they numbed my mouth so much that my cheek was completely dead all the way up to my lower eyelid. It tingled when I blinked. Sweet.

*Whimper*

There is not a sadder sight in the world. And yes, those two boxes are both filled with shoes. Yes, after I went through the ones I got rid of. In my defense, some of them are in boxes under there and I do own quite a few platforms. I am so tired today. I did a lot of packing, cleaning, reconfiguring and there is still sooooooooo much to do. *sigh* I feel like I'm not getting anything done which is really discouraging when I've done so much. I did get to have two breaks today, once for yoga and once for Roving Imp rehearsal, so that was nice at least. Okay. I have to get back to packing now. *groan*

Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga.

Nifer and I went to the Uptown Theater today to see the band Spoon in concert. It was awesome. This picture of me is funky. Before the show I told her, "I bet we see someone else we know here." Sure enough, we ran into Nathan from Improv-Abilities. We said hi and he told us two other members of the group were there as well. Small world, or just small town? Either way, it was great being at a concert again even if it smelled of low quality weed where we were standing. FYI, I have never smoked weed, TRUST me on this one, but when it's cheap...it smells horrible and it's obvious. *coughs just thinking about it* Underdog is a fantastic song live, btw.

April Fool's, y'all!

Today was pretty jam packed with important stuff. Jason and I dropped off some loan papers, got some packing done, and the house inspection was today. This was the big thing I'd been waiting for before I could really begin to feel like this thing was going to go down. Yeah. It's going to go down. :-D Tonight was a Hype 7 show at the Hawk's Nest at KU. This is Zak and I, 3/4 of Nifer and the top of Joe's head during Pan left/pan right. We were performing Romeo and Juliet, badly, as based on the audience suggestion. Everyone knows that's a Shakesperian hand gesture. We had a lot of fun tonight, I got to wear Nifer as a dress during our Corporate Training Video game (it's an H7 origional!) and we were all very physical and had great scenework. It came together quite splendidly. We went out afterward and got to meet Zak's girlfriend, she was really cute and nice. We're supposed to close on the house next Friday. *Squee!*
