Movin' on up

The great move-in has begun. Jason and I rented a small U-Haul today since neither of our cars has the capacity to move more than a few boxes at a time, let alone beds, couches, dressers, etc. We filled about half of it with boxes this afternoon, then grabbed some dinner before I headed off to Hype 7 rehearsal. Our rehearsal space in Kansas City is in the Country Club Plaza neighborhood, so parking can be hard to come by occasionally. Tonight it was nearly freaking impossible. Apparently Laura Bush was in the same building as us (why? I don't know) and people were lined up to go in and see her and others to protest. I came in the back way like I always do and there were cops all over the building. The room we rehearse in has a window on the door and we could see people walking up the stairs giving us funny looks the whole time. Sweet. It certainly made for an interesting evening. After rehearsal I took Nifer, Zak, and Joe to the house to show it off. They seemed suitably impressed. I can't believe we're going to sleep there tomorrow night...and every night thereafter. Well, excluding vacations and eventually moving out, of course. I hope that's years and years from now, I love the house.
