Feeling Impish
Recovering from my tooth extraction has given me enough downtime to finally FINALLY finish that skirt I'd been sewing, so I premiered it tonight at Roving Imp rehearsal. Isn't it cute? The reason it took so long is that each of those five ribbons is hand sewn and the skirt is about 20 feet around at the base. Also, two are grosgrain ribbon and I had to secure them on the top and bottom. Rehearsal was pretty good, we had a lot of fun, but as you can see my cheeks are still slightly poofy (and bruised!) so when we were playing the animal game James pointed at me and said, "Chipmunk!" Ha freaking ha. To be fair, I have beaned the guy in the mouth with a plastic lemon and punched him during a show once. I had it coming. (Believe it or not, we don't hate one another) We aren't going to be closing on the house tomorrow. It's been pushed back to NEXT Friday. I'm not going to relax until we sign the dotted line, I swear.

A. Cute skirt!
B. After my closing nightmares (and they were legion) I realized I wouldn't relax until I was in my unit. And I walked up to the outer door of the condo and...the key they gave me didn't work. I burst into tears IMMEDIATELY, then a nice man came and gave me the real key.
It will all work out. And you'll have new stories to use on others when they buy houses.
Thanks for the kudos, everyone!
And Trish, my itty bitty heart broke a little reading your story. I can just picture you in the rain (even if it was inside, it's an appropriate mental picture, just go with it) crying and leaning against a wall clutching a key. *sniffles!*
Totally cute!
