City of fountains

I went to high school with Amie. While we were living in Denver we got an invitation to her wedding, so we went (durr.) Denver is about 4 hours away from where I went to high school so I had fallen out of touch with everyone in the town, pretty much. We showed up and people I knew when were so surprised to see me, it was great. At that point we knew we might be moving to Kansas City and we were surprised to learn Amie and her brand new hubby lived in Olathe. We got their number so we could stay in touch. A couple months later we were heading back to Denver from Jason's mom's house, and we used to drive right through Kansas City on our way. We called Amie and Mike to see if they wanted to have lunch with us. On our way there the car broke down and lunch turned into a five day stay. They saved us hundreds of dollars in hotel fees, thus heightening their awesome status with us. Every so often we get together and catch up. We went to Legends today, and there she is walking her son, Daniel, around the big fountain. We had a good time, got some lunch, it was nice. Tonight while at rehearsal we had another tornado warning, this one came really really close to being the real thing, too. Eep! Rehearsal was great, I applied some of the stuff I learned at the workshop and made John do one of those "Yessss!" fist pumpy thingies. Sweet. Those are pretty rare.
